Micro-Weddings are becoming an ever-growing trend as couples scale back big celebrations to instead opt for a more reserved guest list filled with family and close friends. This trend is extending into 2022 and here’s some of my favourite intimate wedding venues…

Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons, Oxfordshire – this is one for the gourmet foodies out there looking for true culinary excellence on their wedding day.


Set in the picturesque Oxfordshire countryside, Belmond Le Manoir, no other UK Wedding Venue offered 2 Michelin Star menus hand-crafted by the renowned chef; Raymond Blanc (need I say anymore?)


There are a beautiful array of rooms to host your intimate wedding day, the Blanc de Blanc, Opium L’Orangerie which seats up to 8 guests, or the Provence Suite for up to 14 guests are both full of romantic charm. And if the weather is on your side, they also offer a stunning choice of al fresco options within their picturesque gardens; from the Japanese Fugetsu-an Tea House, to the Botanic Glasshouse, to the Garden Pegola – how could you choose!?


You also have the option to hire Belmond Le Manoir as an exclusive use wedding venue for you and your guests to escape to for the day. You could even treat your guests to an exclusive session at their famous Cookery School, experience a wine-tasting with their Head Sommelier – what more could you ask for from a beautiful, private countryside retreat?


And for when you retire for the evening, their individually decorated hotel bedrooms are a lovely way to spend with your new Mr & Mrs as you reminisce on your day.


 

Milsoms Kesgrave Hall, Suffolk – This your luxurious home-away-from-home for the day (or weekend if you fancy a longer celebration!)


Set in over 40 acres of parks and woodland, Kesgrave Hall truly feels like your own personal mansion for your wedding day.


There are options to have your intimate ceremony indoors or outdoors in their landscaped grounds and there are also a selection of spaces available for your drinks reception and wedding breakfast.


Their talented, in-house catering team provide copious mouth-watering options for your wedding breakfast. From seared scallops, to Herb Crusted Pork Fillets, to Coffee Baked Alaska topped with Amaretti crumb – how on earth could anyone choose?


Kesgrave Hall can also be hired exclusively, to include 23 stylish and contemporary bedrooms. You will also be able to enjoy their luxury onsite spa, complete with Elemis treatments and outdoor spa pool – a perfect excuse to be pampered!


 

Glazebrook House, Devon – Located in the idyllic Devonshire countryside, Glazebrook House is a one-in-a-million wedding venue.


The luxury, boutique hotel offers a magical Alice in Wonderland theme throughout. The 9 bespoke en-suite bedrooms are named after the famous characters from the novel written by Lewis Carroll; from The Mad Hatters Room, to The Caterpillar Room, they have really encapsulated the theme in the most decadent way.


The interior of the Award-Winning Glazebrook House exudes oodles of creativity and imagination with their hand-crafted furniture and charming vintage accents, whilst the whimsical gardens bring the enchanting theme to life outside, there really is a surprise waiting for you around every corner.


Their professional and relaxed team offer a discreet service to ensure you and your guests feel like you’re in a world of your own and their scrumptious menus are created by the in-house Executive Chef, boasting mouth-watering local and seasonal ingredients – you really are transported to your own Wonderland!


 

The Old Vicarage, Nottinghamshire – A gorgeous, family run, 17th century boutique hotel in Nottinghamshire.


The Old Vicarage is available to hire on an exclusive use basis and includes 8 individually designed, en-suite bedrooms. Featuring original 17th century fireplaces, the interior designers have accomplished the perfect balance of refined opulence with a homely, cosy feel.


There are beautiful spaces indoors and outside for your Wedding Ceremony. Indoors offers a decadent suite filled with natural light from the large Victorian windows, whilst their beautifully landscaped gardens offer the option to hire the hand-crafted Bandstand if you fancy an al-fresco style wedding.


After a newly finished renovation project, The Old Vicarage also offers a stunning Orangery for your Wedding Breakfast and Evening Reception. The copious amounts of natural light, picturesque views of their gardens and indulging in a fine dining experience is the perfect way to indulge you and your guests on a truly memorable day.


 

Eshott Hall, Northumberland Within the picturesque Northumbrian Countryside lies Eshott Hall; A beautiful Georgian Country Estate perfect for your intimate wedding.


There’s a romantic air to the estate and this is continued inside the Hall, with original key features that have been combined with modern touches to make timeless backdrop for your wedding day. For your Ceremony there are numerous options inside and outside however If you prefer a more traditional setting for your Wedding Ceremony, they have a beautifully restored, on-site Chapel complete with stained glass windows!


And for your Wedding Reception, my choice would have to be the Drawing Room; imagine neutral walls, complemented by the airy décor, complete with intricate ceilings, grand windows and a statement fireplace.


They also have 2 AA Rosette’s in their Fine Dining Restaurant and promise to provide all couples with a bespoke menu complete with local and fresh produce from the countryside and coast.


Within the Hall and nearby Grange lies 17 unique bedrooms filled with iconic Georgian-era décor, whilst on the estate lies further accommodation in their Private Cottages (perfect for families).
