Planning a wedding is one of the most exciting experiences in life, but it can also be one of the most stressful and daunting. With countless decisions to make and numerous details to manage, it's no wonder many couples are turning to Wedding Planners like myself for help and guidance. However, one of the first questions many couples ask is: How much does a luxury wedding planner cost in the UK?
While budgeting for a wedding is a key part of the planning process, understanding the cost of hiring a professional Wedding Planner is an essential step in making your wedding dream a reality. At Vivienne May Weddings, we believe in transparency and providing you with a clear picture of what you can expect. It’s also important to remember that hiring a luxury Wedding Planner is a worthwhile investment in ensuring your big day is flawlessly executed, stress-free, and memorable for both you and your guests.

How much does a luxury Wedding Planner cost in the UK?
The cost of a luxury wedding planner can vary widely depending on several factors. To help you understand how the price is determined, here are the key elements that impact the overall cost...
Wedding scale & guest count
One of the primary factors influencing the cost of a wedding planner is the size of your wedding. Larger weddings with more guests require more coordination, additional services, assistants and logistical support. For example, a grand wedding with 200+ guests will require extra attention to detail, including co-ordinating transportation, catering, accommodation arrangements, and other key elements to ensure everything runs smoothly.
On the other hand, a more intimate wedding with fewer guests will naturally have a lower cost, as fewer logistical challenges are involved. Whether you’re planning an intimate gathering or an extravagant celebration, a luxury wedding planner can tailor their services to meet your needs.
Level of service (Full Planning, Partial Planning or On the Day Management)
The level of service you choose plays a crucial role in determining the cost. At Vivienne May Weddings, I offer three tailored planning options, each designed to cater to your unique needs and vision, ensuring a completely bespoke experience for your special day.
Full Planning: This service includes everything you will need from start to finish, from venue selection, to supplier sourcing, to full moodboard designs, to budgeting assistance, to wedding website creation and on-the-day co-ordination. Booking a Full Planning experience ensures every aspect of your wedding, ensuring a seamless experience from start to finish.
Partial Planning: If you’ve already booked your venue and perhaps a few suppliers but need assistance with specific areas to finalise your plans (i.e. sourcing remaining suppliers, wedding budget assistance, schedule creation, wedding website creation and co-ordinating on the day), my Partial Planning experience might be the right fit for you. This option is more affordable but still provides the expertise of a Wedding Planner to take your wedding to the next level.
On-the-Day Management/Coordination: For couples who have already done the majority of the planning, booked their suppliers and have a rough idea of the schedule of the day, but want a professional to oversee the execution, on-the-day coordination services are a great choice. This is a more affordable option that focuses solely on ensuring everything runs smoothly on the day itself.
The more comprehensive the service, the higher the cost, as more time and expertise are required to deliver a flawless experience.
Location & venue type
The location of your wedding and the type of venue you choose can also impact the cost of hiring a Wedding Planner. For example, weddings held at exclusive, high-end venues or destination weddings will typically cost more due to the unique logistics involved.
Destination weddings often require additional planning for travel, accommodation, and managing wedding-related activities in a different location, which increases the complexity of the event. Similarly, marquee weddings or those held in unusual or challenging venues require extra coordination and organization, which can drive up costs.
Complexity of the event (multi-day weddings, marquee weddings, destination weddings)
The complexity of your wedding is another major factor that influences the cost of a luxury Wedding Planner. If you’re planning a multi-day celebration or a marquee wedding with grand installations, a Planner will need to allocate more time and resources to bring your vision to life. This includes co-ordinating vendors, managing timelines, and troubleshooting any unexpected issues that may arise.
For example, if you're planning a weekend wedding celebration with various events (like pre-wedding parties, post-wedding brunches, or rehearsal dinners), you’ll need a Wedding Planner like myself who has extensive experience in planning and managing a selection of events across a short time period.
Average cost ranges for UK Wedding Planners in 2026
While exact pricing will vary depending on your wedding’s specifics, here are some general cost ranges to help you understand what to expect when hiring a Wedding Planner in the UK:
Full Planning: Luxury Wedding Planners in the UK typically charge from 10 to 15% of your total budget for full-service planning, and usually with a minimum fee applying. This price range can increase if you’re planning a larger or more complex event. With full-service planning, your Wedding Planner should be involved in every aspect of your wedding, from concept to execution, ensuring that all details are perfectly coordinated.
Partial Planning: Luxury Partial Wedding Planning services typically start from £3,000 to £7,000. This service is ideal for couples have already secured their venue but need expert assistance with the remaining details or want help with finalising logistics, plus the peace of mind on the day that everything will be taken care of.
On-the-Day Management/Co-ordination: For couples who prefer to manage the planning themselves but want professional help to manage the timings and suppliers on your wedding day, On-the-Day Co-ordination usually starts at £1,500 to £3,500. This service focuses on overseeing your wedding day itself, ensuring everything runs according to plan, and handling any last-minute issues.
It’s important to keep in mind that these ranges are average costs. The exact price will depend on the specifics of your wedding, including location, guest count, and the complexity of the event.

When should we hire a Wedding Planner?
The earlier, the better! Ideally, you should hire a wedding planner as soon as you start to think about your wedding date.
