Edible Wedding Favours

Cookies, iced biscuits, macarons, cupcakes, biscotti – a perfect pairing with tea & coffee after your wedding breakfast or a lovely treat for your guests to take home and enjoy the next day as they reminisce about your amazing wedding day.

Perfume or Aftershave

A truly luxurious wedding favour for your guests, whether it’s the Bride or Grooms favourites or a bespoke perfume made just for your wedding day, the scent will stay with your guests long after the day ends.

Charity Donations

If there is a charity close to your heart, why not donate to the charity? A lot of charities sell broaches and Tie Pins that you can gift to your guess as favours - a lovely memorable gift with a sentimental touch.

Sustainable Wedding Favours

At another wedding I was fortunate to be a part of, the couple chose to gift their guests each with a mini succulent in a beautiful vase. They also added in a place name on a small garden cane to double up as a place setting.

In line with the sustainable theme, I also planned an Anniversary Celebration where the couple gifted their guests sunflower seeds for the guests to plant in their own gardens – a great way to complete a sustainable wedding.

Alcoholic Wedding Favours

If you both have your favourite drinks, you could gift these to your guests as favours. There are numerous options; mini bottles of Champagne, Prosecco, or even Spirits (you could even personalise the bottles!) One of my clients had mini bottles of homemade gin as their favours along with a Tonic Token which could be used at the venues bar (which they had pre-paid for) so that their guests had an extra drink on the day.

Welcome Bags or Boxes

If you’re having a hotel wedding or have a lot of guests staying in one place, a goodie bag per room is a nice touch for when your guests arrive at their rooms. You could opt for the humorous route and include hangover kits, or if your guests are staying in self-catered accommodation, why not prepare a breakfast goodie bag for them (croissants, tea/coffee and mini jams/butters).

Bonus Tip: If you are placing bags or boxes in your guests rooms it is also a great idea to include an Order of Events so that your guests know where to be at what times.

Themed Wedding Favours

If you are theming your evening reception and thinking of hiring in a casino or roulette table, you could provide each guest with casino chips to get the night started! There are even suppliers that sell personalised casino chips which is a lovely token for the guests to keep too.

Candle Wedding Favours

Who doesn’t love a candle? You can purchase candles and personalise with your guests’ names or initials (whilst doubling as a place card as well). You can also choose your favourite fragrance that will remind your guests of your special day.

Bonus Tip: why not have a few extra candles personalised with your wedding date and new surname on that you can light on your wedding day and leave a lovely fragrance floating around your wedding venue.

Homemade Wedding Favours

Are you or a friend/family member into making homemade jam, alcohol, honey or even beer? This is always a lovely touch for your wedding favours and it is a great way to involve your talented family and friends into your wedding day, leaving you one less thing to worry about.

Christmas Wedding Favours

Are you hosting a wedding in the festive season? This gives you even more of a selection to choose from when it comes to favours. From Christmas cookies, to baubles, to mince pies, to hot chocolate ingredients, to mini stockings with candy canes and cute mini presents, there are so many ways to continue the festive theme throughout your wedding day.

Children’s Wedding Favours

A lot of favours aren’t necessarily child-friendly so it’s always a great idea to source different favours for any children attending your wedding. The best favours for children are ones that keep them amused (especially throughout the wedding breakfast and speeches as it can be a long time for them to sit still). The most popular option in to gift them a bag or box of wedding themed activities (and maybe a few sweet treats too). From colouring books, to stickers, to I Spy challenges, there are multiple ways to keep children entertained on your wedding day. However if you are still looking for ideas, check out my blog here.

There are endless options for your favours but remember that they are not a necessity and there are lots of couples that choose not to have wedding favours and instead opt to donate to charity, go sustainable and pledge to plant X amount of trees, or even offer a free bar instead. Remember it is completely up to you, it’s your wedding day!
